Issue Indices - Features
The next record in each index is the story, or what is commonly called the feature that is being indexed. This is information about the individual story, or feature in the comic you're indexing. Today's comics usually only include one feature (story) per issue, but it didn't use to be this way. Anthologies (comics with many individual stories) use to be much more common. A pin-up or a text story would also considered a feature. So a comic with a 21-page story with a pin-up would have 2 features.

Got all that? If not, re-read. It's important to understand what we mean when we use the term feature.

The feature record has eighteen fields:

  1. Issue Number
  2. Publication Date
  3. Type
  4. Genre
  5. Feature
  6. Title
  7. Pencils
  8. Inks
  9. Script
  10. Colors
  11. Letterer
  12. Edits
  13. Total Feature Page Count
  14. Cover Price
  15. Character Appearances
  16. Notes/Comments
  17. Synopsis
  18. Reprint Information

These fields will all be on one line in your index, with each field separated from the next by a tab character.
