Series Record

The second record in each index is the series that is being indexed. This is general information about the whole series, even the parts that you are not indexing. The series record should be the same for any index including books that are part of this series. You need to include this record for every index, even if you are starting in the middle of a series.

Whew, did you get all that? If not, re-read. It's important to understand that this record is about the series as a whole, not just the issues you are indexing.

The series record has fourteen fields:

  1. >>series<<
  2. BookName
  3. Publisher
  4. Imprint/PubNotes
  5. SeriesBegan
  6. SeriesEnded
  7. FirstIssue
  8. LastIssue
  9. Tracking
  10. Format
  11. CountryCode
  12. LanguageCode
  13. Notes
  14. Indexer

These fields will all be on one line in your index, with each field separated from the next by a tab character.
